BLACK & DECKER V-1 cordless spotlight

1 Attachment(s)
I was in the market for a powerful flashlight for the homestead. Something that would be a cross between the portability of a flashlight but with the power of a spotlight. I was put off by the big price tags on those Surefires and Steamlight torches and the battery cost of those lithiums or special OEM designed batteries didn't help either.

I found this little spotlight/flashlight at Wallyworld for $20.

This should do the trick for checking on the chicken coup, trot lines and what goes thump in the night. Its pretty small for a spotlight but too big to be called a flashlight. Much more compact and portable than those Q-Beams ... burns retinas too.

Think I'll pick up another next payday.

How feasible is it for a light mfgr to put on of those shakey-shakey dynamo generators in a high intensity flashlight? Would the beam last longer than 10 seconds?

I just ordered one of these to replace an older 1 million candle power Home Depot spots that finally died. I had so much fun with the old one even though it was heavy and the charge only lasted 10 minutes or so. If you have a need to turn night into day and cause trespassers to freeze in their tracks from a long way away then I'd recommend one. This sucker is 15 million candle power (which is apparently a misleading way to compare), but for $49.99 the entertainment value alone is worth it. Do not aim at aircraft unless you want a special visit for people in suits. Also, these are near worthless inside a home as they are simply too powerful.
